GEORGINA RESKALA

Georgina Reskala is a Mexican-Lebanese artist living and working in Santa Monica CA. She moved to San Francisco California to attend CCA (California College of the Arts ) where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and an MFA in 2015. During her time at CCAC she was mentored by Larry Sultan and trained extensively with Chris Johnson in traditional fine printing.After graduating she spent a year in Barcelona and a year in Mexico City where she worked in advertising as well as in personal projects.
She has had several solo and group exhibitions including Zona Maco (Mexico City), Seattle Art Fair, Photo LA, Pulse Miami, Photo Festival Yixian, China, and Venice Institute of Contemporary Art amongst others. In 2017 she was shortlisted for the Hariban Award, Kyoto Japan. Her work is in the collections of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Eugene OR., the Frye Art Museum, Seattle WA., the Portland Art Museum, Portland OR., and the Museo de Arte Zacatecas, Mexico.
She is represented by PDX CONTEMPORARY ART in Portland OR.She is currently an adjunct professor at CCA and a textiles teacher at L’Ecole Claire Fontaine in Venice CA.
