IRIS PROJECT RESIDENCY APPLICATION
Questions: contact@irisprojectresidency.com
Eligibility
Iris Project Residency encourages applications from creatives of diverse backgrounds and disciplines. We accept applications from artists working in the visual arts, film/video arts, interdisciplinary arts, curation, poetry, and literature. Both emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply, but applicants must demonstrate five years of dedicated experience in their chosen field.
Iris Project Residency is committed to a policy of nondiscrimination and equal opportunity for all persons, regardless of race, national origin or ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, religion, creed, economic or social station, martial status, age, or physical ability.
Duration
Residency durations are a minimum of one week to a maximum of four weeks.
Accommodation
The residency is housed in a converted carriage house with a full kitchen, full bathroom, on-site laundry, and an outdoor shop sink. The detached work studio has white plywood walls and ample natural light. There are no fees charged by the Residency, but residents are responsible for their own travel, meals, and supplies. Residents are not allowed to leave any work behind; the frame store conveniently located next door is available to pack and ship work at resident’s expense. The Residency and studio are on ground level, but unfortunately are not fully wheelchair accessible at this time. Linens and basic kitchen equipment are provided. The Residency is located in a residential neighborhood, so residents are required to respect the tone and tempo of our neighbors. Guests may be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that there are two professionally maintained beehives elsewhere on the property. Residents with severe allergies to bee stings should contact us before applying.
Application Process
Applicants must apply through our online application. The application portal opens January 15th and closes February 15th. We will be reviewing applications for 2021. Acceptance letters are sent out by the end of March. We will neither consider nor return mailed applications. If you need assistance with the online application process, please contact admissions@irisprojectresidency.com.
